Our organic broccoli sprouting seeds are of the elusive Calabrese variety. Sprouting Calabrese seeds are remarkable because they give you the highest sulforaphane from glucoraphanin. Over 90% of the sprouting broccoli seeds on the market are from the broccoli Raab variety. But unfortunately, this variety gives you 1/10th of Calabrese’s glucoraphanin (and therefore sulforaphane)! And Raab doesn’t taste nearly as good.
Did you know broccoli is a large edible flower first “engineered” by the ancient Italian civilisation called the Etruscans? Since then, it has been a staple source of nutrition throughout the world. Sprouted Organic broccoli Calabrese seeds are incredibly nutrient-dense with little fat and calories. In addition, they contain approximately 50 times the amount of nutrients of full-grown vegetables. So add them to your smoothies, salads, sandwiches, grain bowls, and curries. Of course, we add them to everything! For example, try toast smeared with bio-activated nut butter, sliced fruit or berries, and broccoli sprouts to get a full-on nutrient boost.
We recommend consuming a large handful of sprouted broccoli seeds daily for optimum health and well-being. However, more significant amounts of 50g or more are required every few days for various clinical outcomes. Use our easy-to-use and elegant eco-sprouting kit for over 300g of fresh sprouts per 50g of seeds.
10g of seed yields approximately 100g of sprouts in 3 – 5 days. For maximum sulforaphane, harvest sprouts at three days old. For the most protein, polyphenols and nutrients sprout until days eight and eleven.
Fact: Broccoli seeds do not predominantly contain sulforaphane. Instead, they have the building blocks to create sulforaphane (glucoraphanin and myrosinase). Therefore, when you chew, chop or blend raw broccoli sprouts, they combine and create sulforaphane.
Fact 2: Sulpfuraphane has been shown in randomised control studies to detoxify and protect your body against heavy metals, pesticides and air pollutants!
